Hormone Replacement Creams in Woodstock, GA

Hormone replacement therapy does not have to mean injections or pellet insertion. For patients who want a non-invasive option they can use at home, HRT creams offer another way to receive hormone support through the skin.

At Innovative Health & Wellness, creams are one of the HRT options we offer to patients looking to address symptoms of hormone changes.

About HRT Creams

Topical hormone therapy can be used in several different ways depending on the hormone being prescribed and the symptoms being treated. Some creams deliver hormones into the bloodstream so they can affect the whole body. Others, such as low-dose vaginal estrogen creams, work more locally to help with symptoms like vaginal dryness, irritation, or discomfort during intimacy.

Innovative Health & Wellness offers hormone replacement therapy options for men and women at our Atlanta and Woodstock, GA locations. Schedule a consultation to learn more about HRT creams, compare available delivery methods, and find out which type of hormone therapy may be right for you.

How HRT Creams Work

The skin can absorb certain hormones and deliver them into the body. This is known as transdermal hormone therapy.

Some topical hormones are absorbed through the skin and enter the bloodstream, allowing them to have effects throughout the body. Others are applied directly to vaginal tissue and are designed to work mainly in that area.

Understanding that difference is important because a cream used for vaginal dryness is not necessarily the same treatment you would use for hot flashes, low testosterone, or other whole-body symptoms.

Types of Hormone Creams

Estrogen therapy is commonly used to treat symptoms caused by declining estrogen during perimenopause and menopause.

When estrogen is delivered systemically, it reaches the bloodstream and can help with symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, and other bothersome symptoms caused by estrogen loss

FDA-approved systemic estrogen applied through the skin is commonly available as patches, gels, and sprays.

Vaginal estrogen cream is a different type of hormone therapy. Instead of treating whole-body menopause symptoms, a low dose of estrogen is placed directly on vaginal or vulvar tissue.

It is primarily used for genitourinary syndrome of menopause, or GSM. As estrogen levels decline, vaginal and urinary tissues can become thinner, drier, and more sensitive.

Vaginal estrogen may help with vaginal dryness, burning, irritation, and pain during sex.

Testosterone can also be delivered through the skin.

Topical testosterone therapy is used for men who have symptoms of testosterone deficiency along with consistently low testosterone levels.

Once applied, testosterone is absorbed through the skin and enters the bloodstream. Treatment may help improve symptoms related to low testosterone, such as reduced sex drive, low energy, and changes in muscle mass.
